Most drug molecules are inherently chiral.These enantiomers show identical physicochemical properties in an isotropic environment.When the drug molecules enter into a living system,one enantiomer might possess the desired pharmacological effect,the other could be inactive or even toxic [1].The methods developed for enantioseparation,include high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC),gas chromatography (GC),supercritical-fluid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis (CE).The separation effect of CE is mainly determined by mobility difference of the analytes.In order to generate a mobility difference in chiral separations,a chiral selector was added in the buffer to create an asymmetric environment.Each of the enantiomers formed a complex with the selector,the enantioseparation was then achieved by the motion difference of the complexes.In traditional CE methods,once the separation system (electrolyte background,chiral selector,length of the separation channel,etc.) was fixed,the resolutions of the analytes would be determined.In this work,we adopted a new strategy to simplify the method development of enantioseparation in CE.We carried out velocity gap (VG) mode in which a three-electrode system was designed to perform CE.The new design made it possible to create two different strength of electrical fields as E1 and E2 (E1
