Objective: To observe the therapeutic efficacy in using sulfotanshinone sodium and mecobalamin for treatment of patients with diabetic peripheral peripheral neuropathy.Method: A total of 114 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into the treatment group (79 cases) and the control group (35 cases).Treatment group was given with both Sulfotanshinone Sodium and Mecobalamin Injection, and the control group was given with the Mecobalamin Injection only.After the completion of three treatment periods, the therapeutic efficacy between two groups was compared.Results: The numb pain ease degree and the nerve conduction speed improvement in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy was very significant different between two groups (P<0.05 or P<0.01).The therapeutic efficacy in treatment group was much better than that in control group.Conclusion: The combined use of both Sulfotanshinone Sodium and Mecobalamin Injection has an obvious curative effect for treatment of patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Sulfotanshinone Sodium Injection has obvious effect on the dilation of blood vessels, relief of vascular pressure, and improvement of peripheral circulation.It may also have the effective restoration of the blood supply of the diseased tissue for the improvement of the clinicat symptoms.Sulfotanshinone Sodium Injection with endogenous adenosine synergies can enable the cells to anaerobic metabolism, reducing the need for energy, to further improve cell tolerance to ischemia.Mecobalamin Injection can promote nucleic acid, protein synthesis, and also increase the activity of methionine synthase, thereby enhancing the formation of myelin to promote the synthesis of myelin structure of lipid lecithin, and restore nerve convey delay and neural communication material reduction.Our study shows that the combined use of both Sulfotanshinone Sodium and Mecobalamin may have a synergistic effect, suggesting that it can be used as an improving drug for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
