As the source of the Dong River,one of three major river systems of the Pearl River Basin,Dong River Source originated in the territory of Ganzhou City,covering three counties: Anyuan,Xunwu and Dingnan and three Towns (township) of Huichang and Longnan County;it is called as Dong River after confluence with Anyuan River at Hehe Dam in Longchuan County,Heyuan City,Guangdong Province,and then it flows by Heyuan,Huizhou,Dongguan,Guangzhou and Shenzhen,enters into Shiziyang Tunnel and finally feeds to the sea at Humen.Dong River is main drinking water source of Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta,and known as "water of politics,economy and life",so it is of great significance to ensure the ecological security of Dong River Source.
