  The effect of doping of 1,3 and 5wt%Al2O3 on dielectric properties and abnormal grain growth in BaTiO3 samples sintered at 1200,1225 and 1250℃ bas been studied,along with the phase transition in samples fabricated by aqueous chemical coating method.A uniformly distributed Al2O3.xH2O coating layer could be observed.The additive reacted with BaTiO3 to form BaAl2O4 below 800℃ and the appearance of Ba4Al2Ti10O27 was confirmed at 1250℃.
