Ferroelectrics have reversible spontaneous polarizations.LiNbO3 is a unique ferroelectric that possesses many excellent properties including the largest polarization along the crystallographic z-axis, excellent physical and chemical stability, and strong photogalvanic effect.With the application of an electric field, patterns with positive and negative polarizations (anti-parallel domain structures) in the material can be fabricated.The domain size can be manipulated by adjusting magnitude and duration of the applied field.1
