Background & Aims IL-22 has both a protective or pro-inflammatory role in chronic inflammatory diseases.However,the role of IL-22 inthe Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori)-induced chronic gastritis is still unknown.Methods IL-22 and cytokines expression in gastric tissue samples from H.pylori infected patients and controls were evaluated by real-time PCR and ELISA.IL-22-producing cells in the gastric mucosa were detected by flow cytometry.
