In this paper we describe the design and application of a novel GC oven developed for very fast cooling and operation at temperatures within 3 or 4 degrees of ambient.Many applications benefit from lower temperature chromatography but in the past users would have to wait long periods for the oven to cool to such temperatures or need recourse to liquid cryogen-neither of which is a convenient solution.
