Removal of nitrate from contaminated ground water and soil system and simultaneous supply of safe drinking water is a major challange in different parts of the world.Plant based systems including grasses hold much promise but very little has been known regarding nitrate linked pathway regulations and nitrate assimilation during early growth stages.
