Our epigenomes are dynamically changed by environmental signal, but most epigenetic research so far has been on the identification of static epigenetic marks containing cytosine methylation or histone modifications.Chromatin-associated proteome (chromatome) which dynamically responds to environmental stimulus to program the epigenome has been principally overlooked. However, the dynamic chromatome may offer unique potential to intervene in the epigenetic development of disease and identify treatment strategy, we therefore developed a proteomic method to profile the dynamic chromatome induced by environmental condition. This method has been applied to study hypoxia-driven cancer development.
