Pyrazoloquinazolinone is a privileged scaffold frequently found in compounds possessing remarkable pharmacological activities including anti-allergic,anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory.[1] In addition,some pyrazolo quinazolinone derivatives have been developed as potential cytokines TNF-α and IL-1β modulator,polymerase-1 inhibitor,and topoisomerase I inhibitor.[2] Owing to their importance,a number of methods have been developed for the preparation of pyrazoloquinazolinones.[3] While these literature protocols are generally efficient and reliable,some of them still suffer from delicate substrates,tedious procedures and harsh reaction conditions.Therefore,new synthetic methods starting from readily available substrates and realized in a more environmentally sustainable manner are highly desirable.
