Glass is a nearly ideal material for photovoltaic (PV) modules because of its well-balanced materials properties:good mechanical strength, light transmission, electrical insulation and a favorable stability against corrosion,temperature, humidity and visible/UV light, all at comparatively low cost and earth abundant raw materials.
