Objective: Our study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of fast track surgery(FTS)in the treatment of Hirschsprungs disease.Methods: A prospective multicenter randomized controlled trial was conducted from January 2010 to January 2014.The patients were divided into two groups: fast track surgery group(FTS group,n=100)and traditional managements group(control group,n=98).The postoperative intestinal function recovery time,hospital stay,hospital expense and complications were compared and analyzed.Results: The recovery of bowel movement was faster in the fast-track surgery group than the control group(P<0.05).The hospital stay and hospital expense of fast-track group were significantly less than traditional group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Fast track surgery in the treatment of Hirschsprungs disease was safe and effective.Furthermore,FTS could improve the bowel movement recovery,shorten hospital stay and reduce hospital expense.
