Cancer aggressiveness is determined by multiple aspects of tumour biology controlled by receptor tyrosine kinases and cancer metastasis is often associated with a reduced expression of the EphB6 receptor tyrosine kinase.Our analysis revealed decreased EphB6 presence in breast tumours.We found that EphB6 restoration opposes epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition and blocks cancer invasiveness, and metastasis.EphB6 also suppresses cancer stem cell activity and increases tumour sensitivity to DNA-darnaging drugs.In agreement, high EphB6 expression correlates with a better survival in breast cancer patients.
