Hailaer Basin is a Mesozoic faulted-depression basin which undergoes three periods of superimposition and reformation. The basin can be divided into extending faulted-depression in the bottom,strike-slip pull-apart basin in the middle and depression basin in the top."Narrow","small" and "poor" are the sags characteristics of this kind of basin.Complex tectonic setting result in development of rifts, multi uplift and multiphase unconformities.Depression period sedimentary strata mainly development cap layer and control the maturity of source rocks.
