Objective:To investigate the correlation between serum complement C3 and C4 levels and clinical features in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Methods:The clinical data of 208 patients with SLE were prospectively collected and analyzed, and the correlation between complement levels and clinical manifestations, laboratory indexes, disease activity and so on were analyzed. In 120 patients with other rheumatic diseases(control group).Data source for Chinese Rheumatism Data Center. The count data were compared with the X2 test, and the non normal distribution was compared with the rank sum test. Results:The levels of complement C3 and C4 in SLE patients were significantly lower than those in control group.,In SLE patients, course of disease, rash, arthritis, serositis, white blood cell, hemoglobin, platelets, erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),24 hour urinary protein, antinuclear antibody, anti double stranded DNA(dsDNA)antibodies and anti SM antibody, anti SSA antibody, anti SSB antibody,anti-ro-52 antibody were possible factors associated with complement reduction(P<0.05).fThe serum complement levels in SLE patients were negatively correlated with the SLE disease activity index(SLEDAI)score. Conclusion:Complement C3 and C4 are commonly used in the clinical detection of SLE indicators, not only has important value for the diagnosis of SLE,but is an important indicator of SLE disease activity.
