Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death in the United States and worldwide.It is estimated that there will be more than 200,000 new cases of lung cancer in the US in 2011 Better understanding of the molecular biology in non-small cell lung cancer has allowed us to identify different signaling pathways implicated in the pathogenesis of NSCLC.Recently, the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-g) pathway has been identified as a possible target in the sensitization of lung cancer cells to EGFR-TKI therapy.
