  During meiosis of spermatogenesis,sex chromosomes are physically separated from autosomes and sex chromosome-linked genes are transcriptionally silenced,which is called meiotic sex chromosome inactivation (MSCI).It has been widely hypothesized that the autosomal retrogenes may be compensating for their X-linked progenitor genes to overcome the MSCI.
