In the recent years,d8 and d10 transition metal complexes have attracted much attention because of their remarkable structural diversities and potential applications in sensors, photochemical and electroluminescent devices [1-2].Organosulfur and organicnitrogen ligands are frequently applied as bridging ligands for adjacent transition-metal sites because their orbital energies are better matched and there will be greater delocalization of the spin electron density toward bridging atoms. We are especially interested in the research of the syntheses between the CuI and 1-phenyl-1H-5-thiol-tetrazole (Hptt),and our exploratory studies led to one new complex,Cu(ptt). The red crystals of the compound were prepared by solvothermal methods. The mixture of CuBr,Hptt and tetrahydrofura was heated at 150oC for 4 days, and then cooled to room temperature during one day.The solution was evaporated at ambient atmosphere to give the single crystals.X-ray single-crystal diffraction study reveal that Cu(ptt) crystallize in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c (No.14).As show in Fig 1a,Each Cu atom is bonded to two nitrogen atom and two sulfur atoms from four ptt molecules, respectively, with a distorted terahedron.Similarly,as a bridging ligand, two terminal nitrogen atoms in tetrazole of ptt molecule are bonded to two different Cu atoms, respectively, and one sulfer atom is connected to two different Cu atoms. The Cu atoms and ptt ligand are interconnected via Cu-N and Cu-S bonds into a 2D Cu(ptt)n thick layer along the bc plane. These 2D Cu(ptt)n layers feature parallel stacking along the a-axis (Fig 1b).
