Fusarium wilt disease caused by Fusarium oxysorum f.sp.chieh-qua impaired chieh-qua growth and productivity and lead to severe reductions in chieh-qua yields of Southchina.To uncover interaction mechanism in the early stages between chieh-qua (Benincasa hispida Cogn.var.Chieh-qua How) and Fusarium oxysorum, a comparative proteomic analysis based on 2-DE and MALDI-TOF/TOF MS/MS technology was carried out with the leaves of A37 variety post-inoculated 12h, 24h and 72h.A total of 15, 41 and 64 unique proteins differentially expressed with at least 1.9-fold differences in abundance (P < 0.05) on 2-DE maps were detected respectively in treatments contrast to controls at the three time points.
