Primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) located in the maxillary gingiva and hard palate is relatively rare, appropriate treatment strategy for patients with SCC of maxilla put forward was difficult due to lack evidence from large-sample clinical studies.The traditional view about cervical lymph node metastasis of SCC in maxilla was low,especially occult metastasis from cN0 stage, and a widely observation stategy was accepted.However, recent studies showed the risk of cervical lymph node metastasis of SCC in maxilla was similar comparable to the subsite of the oral cavity.
