The repair of cranial or spinal dural defects with collagen duraform is common practice in neurosurgery. Here we are demonstrating an unusual complication that occurred after the successful resection of meningioma (Simpsons grade 1 resection).Dural defect was repaired with bovine derived collagen dural substitute (CODMAN DURAFORM).Exact on eight days of first operation, patient was readmitted for marked right hemiparesis.Within our subject post operative, collection was diagnosed at first but considering that the individual didnt have a fever,we discarded diagnosis of brain abscess.Patient was shifted to the operating room for removal of the collagen graft due to concern for an inflammatory reaction. To our best knowledge this is the first reported case of an allergic reaction which took place within a week postoperatively related to bovine derived collagen dural substitute.Immediate surgical removal of the graft and repair with autologous fascia seems to be optimal treatment when complication ensues.
