Testis-specific genes are essential for the spermatogenesis in mammalian male reproduction.A novel testis-specific/enriched gene, T672, was identified by hybridizing developmental st~ge of days 4, 9, 18, 35, 54 and 6 months of postnatalBalb/C mouse testis cDNA samples with Affymetrix Genechip. The scaling signal intensities of T672 in the six stages of mouse testis showed that the expression of 7672was not detected on day 4, 9 or 18 but on day 35, 54 and 6 months. And this developmental expression was further confirmed by RT-PCR.The full cDNA length of human T672 was 755 bp, with a 681 bp open reading frame encoding a 226 amino acids protein that was 81.1 % identical to a human homologue.RT-PCR analysis of T672mRN,A from multiple mouse and human tissues indicated the expression of T672 specifically or enriched in the testis.
