Being a versatile class of functional dyes,phthalocyanines possess intriguing and tunable optoelectronic,photophysical,catalytic,and self-assembly properties.These characteristics,together with their high stability,render them to be used as advanced materials,1 efficient catalysts,2 and promising theranostic agents3 for various applications.The properties of these macrocyclic compounds depend largely on the metal center and the axial and/or peripheral substituents.
