The sweet potato whitefly,Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius)(Hemiptera: Aleyrodiadae),is one of the most serious pests with wide host range. In this study, the potential of Encarsia sophia(Girault & Dodd)and Eretmocerus hayati(Zolnerowich & Rose)to control B.tabaci using banker plant system was evaluated.Field study was conducted to determine parasitism rate of the two parasitoids on tomato plant using castor,Ricinus communis L.(Euphorbiaceae),as a banker plant.Furthermore, banker plant method was compared to pupa – card release and no release control. This study showed that R.communis as non-crop plant supported rearing of these parasitoids.Furthermore, the emergence rate of the parasitoids was greater than 16%compared to pupa-card.Efficiency of parasitoids was evaluated by their percent parasitism.Er.hayati showed a higher parasitism than En.sophia in both banker plant and pupa – card release methods. There was no significant difference in parasitism rate when Er.hayati was released by banker plant and paper –pupa card.
