In this paper, the effect of hydrochloric acid concentration on the removal of SUS430 ferritic stainless steel strip oxide layer was systematically studied by the process of hydrochloric acid pickling.When the SUS430 ferritic stainless steel strip was heated to 1150℃, held for 30min and atomized moisture cooling, the main composition of oxide layer was Fe2O3 and Cr2O3, and the outer layer oxide was iron-rich phase, the inner layer oxide was chromium-rich phase.Additionally, there were two chromium-rich regions in oxide layer, the structure of outer layer was compact and the inner layer was porous.With increasing of the hydrochloric acid concentration, the degree of dissolution and stripping for outer layer increased and the outer layer was disappeared gradually.When the hydrochloric acid concentration was 7mol·L-1, the surface of SUS430 ferritic stainless steel strip still existed oxide.
