Objective:The purposeofthisstudywastoretrospectivelyevaluateradiologicalfeaturesinpatientswithpathologicallyprovedAnorectalmalignantmelanoma(AMM).Methods:CTscansof5patientswithpathologicallyprovedAnorectalmalignantmelanoma(AMM)werecollectedfromtheaffiliatedhospitalofouruniversityinbetweenOctober2011toJune2014andretrospectivelyreviewed.Theaveragepatientagewas69.8years(range,61-79years);ofthem3werefemalesand2males.Results:Anorectalmalignantmelanoma(AMM)presentedaspolypoidorfungatingintraluminalmasseswhichwereoftenbulkyinsizeandfocallyexpandedtherectumwithoutobstructingthelumen(n=3),asmallnodearisingfromtherectalmucosa(n=1),andpartialbowelwallthickeningofthesigmoidcolon(n=1).Non-enhancedCTscanshowedahypodenselesionandcontrast-enhancedCTscanshowedslightenhancement(n=1)andmoderateenhancement(n=4).Conclusion:BulkyfungatingmassesinthedistalrectumobscuringthelumenwithoutcausingsignificantobstructionseenonCTscanraisethepossibilityofAMM.Althoughbiopsyandhistopathologicalexaminationareessentialfordiagnosis,distinctradiologicalfeaturesonCTscanmaysuggestthepossibilityofmalignantmelanoma.
