Background Systemic inflammation has been proved to be correlated with poor survival in many cancers.Recently, the inflammation based Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), based on serum levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) and albumin, has been used to predict survival in cancer, including gastric cancer. However, the significance of GPS in metastastic gastric cancer has not been known. This study investigates the significance of the modified Glasgow prognostic score (mGPS) for the survival in patients with metastastic gastric cancer.
