Natural Disasters Map can provide both the direct temporal and spatial information of the disaster-striken areas,therefore is one of the valid means to assess natural disasters and for disasters reduction governance.Study on how to present natural disasters maps scientificly is of great significance.This paper focuses on the analysis and discussion of the point symbols representation in natural disaster maps,and proposes a way to create thematic maps according to the characteristics of natural disasters data combined with practical examples,and finally brings out a series of circles to represent the mapping result.During the whole mapping process,three factors-size of sybmols,symbol variations and map load-are fully considered in order to make a more scientific and reasonable map.As the result shows,sectioned classification of equal ratio based on the characteristics of data enables a more geographic-laws-fitting map.
