Nanoparticles (NPs) play a vital role in medical fields such as diagnostics, imaging, sensing, gene delivery, drug delivery, artificial implants and tissue engineering [1].Gold is one of the precious metals with catalytic, conductivity, good lustrous and ductile properties makes it unique. The NPs of gold own great advantages in the area of medical sector particularly in clinical chemistry, immunoassays, immune response enhancement, detection and control of microorganisms and photothermolysis of cancer due to their sound surface chemistry with controllable geometry and chemical stability [2].Au NPs have been used for delivery of antitumor agents, insulin, tocopherol and other drugs.Liposomes are generalized as good candidates for controlled reactions, and they have been used as micro reactors to synthesize NPs.In addition, liposomes containing Au NPs could be used as probes to track biological processes through microscopic techniques. Some of them are transport by liposome internalization inside the blood vessels or cells or to enhance the drug release by induced-UV light. The focus on biocompatiable encapsulation of alginate capsules is growing now days to replace the cell natural environment in production of different kinds of therapeutics and treatments [3].Alginate capsules are also used in the transplantation studies.By aiming the above discussions the present authors made composite capsules by the combination of alginate and phosphatedyl choline (PC).The present study explains the preparation of biocompatible composite capsules by mixing PC,calcium chloride and carboxymethyl cellulose and dropping the mixture through a needle drop wise in alginate solution. The formed beads were washed with water and treat with calcium chloride solution for 30 min. This process strengthens the surfaces of capsules. The formed capsules were tested for the formation of NPs of Au from their chloride solutions. The percentage of the conversion of the NP was above 99% and the NPs were sorbed on the surface and inside of the capsule. The SEM studies showed the size of NPs as 30-120 nm.The study of effect of other precious metals Pt and Pd on the formation of Au NPs was also studied. The result showed there is no change in the conversion percentage of Au NPs but Pt and Pd were slightly sorbed on capsule. The mechanism was derived to be due to PC worked as a reducing agent [4].The study explains the well organized capsules with gold NPs.Further work to make the Au NPs capsules for biocompatible studies is in progress.
