Several two-stage multiple testing procedures have been proposed to detect geneenvironment interaction in genome-wide association studies (GWAS), though their theoretical properties and generalization have not been elaborated.In this article,we elucidate general condlitions that are required for the validity and the power of these procedures, and we dlisctss novel extensions to GWAS in randomized clinical trials (RCT).
