A novel slow-wave structure(SWS)for 1 THz backward-wave oscillator(BWO)has been investigated in this paper.The high-frequency characteristics and beam-wave interaction of the novel SWS are calculated.The results show that such BWO can operated with a low voltage(< 10 kV).The interaction efficiency over the entire operating frequency band is above 2.8%with a circuit of 3.2 mm.
