Sary-Djaz – Kumaryk River is Kyrgyz and Chinese transboundary river.Flowing from the Central Tien-Shan of the South and East part of Kyrgyzstan,it passes (as Sary-Djaz river) through Kyrgyz territory for 210 km.After Kyrgyz-Chinese border crossing,it (as Kumaryk river) flows through western part of Chinese Sinkiang Uighur Autonomous Region,in the Wensu county and Uch Turfan and forms one of two affluents of Aksu river.River length in the territory of PRC is 106 km.The average long-term water consumption of the river Sary-Djaz – Kumaryk on the border with PRC is 134 m3 per sec.Hydroelectric potential is 740 thous.kW,power and enerly is 6482 mln.kW per hour. In practice,water resources of Sary-Djaz-Kumaryk river are not used in the territory of Kyrgyzstan,but it has significant importance for PRC and actively involved into various economic fields,i.e.irrigation,hydropower,ecology.Hydropower potential of the river is hardly used,however need in electrical power is significant in both states; and their growth is expected in the future.
