  Multi-photon entangled states are an important source for studies in quantum networking and optical quantum computation.So far the largest photon number that scientists have successfully manipulated in multi-photon experiments is restricted to six photons due to the poor photon-pain production rate in spontaneous parametric down-conversion.With our recently developed beamlike high-brightness polarization-entangled photon pairs source,using only 400 mW ultraviolet light pulses as pump laser,we for the first time experimentally prepare an eight-photon GHZ-type entangled state and demonstrate a eight-party quantum communication complexity scenario with it.
