Over the last quarter of a century CSP(R) technology has built up a very impressive standing worldwide.The special CSP(R) process conditions make the production of high value-added steel grades at low costs possible.Soft,non-alloyed steel grades for further processing in cold rolling mills or for direct use as hot strip,represent naturally the largest share of the total production.Other important steel categories are the non-alloyed or micro-alloyed construction steels,high-carbon steels,silicon alloyed electrical grades,multiphase steel as well as API Line pipe grades.Nevertheless,the future market condition will be different and have made it necessary to further extend the CSP(R) technology.SMS Siemag since years has been working on the further develop the CSP(R) technology.Beside many improvements for the established technology we pursue the following main development directions: (1) Reduction of conversion costs.(2) Reduction of CO2 emmissions.(3) Widening of product mix.(4) Substitution of cold rolled strip for appropriate applications.The proven CSP(R) plants in operation provide the ideal basis for further progress.Today SMS Siemag makes available all casting,heating and rolling technologies to serve the demands of our customers and provide the future safety required for flexible reaction on market changes.
