A novel nonlinear companding transform scheme for reducing the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR)of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM)signal is presented in the paper.To reallocate both the amplitudes and statistics of the companded signal more reasonably and flexibly,the scheme transforms the original Gaussian-distributed signals into a specified distribution profile defined by a two-piecewise function with an inflexion point.
