Background In available trials and meta-analyses,the benefits ofpostconditioning (PC) to reduce myocardial damage in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) are still a matter of debate.Methods We systematically searched the PubMed,Medline,Embase and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases published up to October 1,2013.Meta-analysis was performed by Review Manager 5.1.
