Vegetable oil, largely stored in the form of triacylglycerol (TAG) as a major carbon and energy reserve, is the key lipid resource for human diets, and also a sustainable resource for biofuel and valuable compounds in industry.Global energy crises and depletion natural resources raise increasing attention from scientific community and plant biomass industry for developing alternative resources for biofuels and chemicals to meet market demands.
