  Carbonaceous nanomaterials are envisaged as ideal anode candidates due to favorable charge-transfer capability.However, their practical applications are severely restricted by relatively low theoretical specific capacity (372 mA h g-1) and formidable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI)-related safety problem,[1] Titanium-based compounds such as titanium oxide (TixOy) and titanium pyrophosphate (TiP2O7) are extensively considered as promising anode candidates for high-power and high-safety LIBs because of high lithiation voltages, low volume changes and environmental benignity.
