Pb(Zr1-xTix)O3(PZT)based ceramics have been widely used as piezoelectric actuators,sensors and transducers due to their excellent piezoelectric properties for more than 50 years,but it is required to develop lead-free piezoelectric ceramics such as BaTiO3,(K,Na)NbO3 or(Bi,Na)TiO3 for environment protecting concerns.BaTiO3 is first discovered as a piezoelectric ceramic but now mostly used as a dielectric material rather than a piezoelectric material partly because of its lower piezoelectric properties(d33=191 pC/N)than PZT.Recently,a series of high-performance BaTiO3 based ceramics prepared by conventional solid-state synthesis method has been developed by adding Ca and/or Sn.
