@@ A previous meta-analysis was performed to assess the association between variations in NRAMP l and tuberculosis(TB)risk but its limitations were that it did not report genotype comparative results,and not discuss the association with extra-pulmonary TB(EPTB).So,we carded out an updated meta-analysis to further investigate the association between NRAMP1 and TB susceptibility.searched databases(PUBMED, EMBASE and ISI Web of Knowledge)up to July 2010 using”tuberculosis”‘‘NRAMPl,"SLCllA1"“solute carrier family 11 member l”‘natural resistance-associated macrophage protein 1",also performed a manual search from relevant original studies.We extracted information on first author,publication year country of origin,age of population,control sources and genotype distribution.Summary ORs and corresponding 95%CIs were estimated by fixed effects or random effects model according to it value.To check for publication bias,a funnel plot,using Eggers linear regression method,Was constructed.
