It is estimated that number of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) subjects is 60 million worldwide, and in developed countries where proportion of the elderly is high and increasing, the potential impact and significance of an early intervention toward those who complain of mild impairment of cognitive function cannot be over-estimated.Among this population, those who satisfy the Petersons criteria for MCI is included. In the process of searching and characterizing for interacting activities with human brain carboxypeptidase B (HBCPB), several CPB-interacting activities was found in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and in serum (CPB-BPs).
