African trypanosomes are extracellular parasites that can be targeted by camelid Heavy-chain Antibody derived antigenbinding fragments, also called Nanobodies.We have found that monomeric Nanobodies against the Variant-specific Surface Glycoprotein (VSG) display interesting therapeutic features in vitro and in vivo that relies on their ability to block the endocytic machinery and to induce apoptosis.
