In An Era of Limits,Only Imagination is Unlimited…
I have been asked to peer across the horizon to the next 30 years of planning and urban development in China,Planners are not prophets, but a few things we do know—the general trends, for instance, and the conditions under which we will have to do our work and to which our practices will have to adapt. My aim here is to sketch some of these trends and conditions along with the challenges that we will have to confront and in some ways have already been forced to confront. In doing so,I would like to suggest that even if we cannot predict the future,we can learn to shape it through diligent research, innovation, experiment, evaluation.and the dissemination of what has been learned,Let me summarize my thoughts in a few words.
