The conventional textile dyeing process involves a high consumption of water,chemicals and energy.Therefore,the textile industry has a great interest in novel technologies with energy and resources-saving.Plasma technology received enormous attention as an environmental-friendly thenology.In this work,synergistic effect of atmospheric pressure plasma on alkaline etching and deep coloring of dyeing properties on polyethylene terephthalate(PET)fabrics was investigated.The weight loss percentage of PET fabric treated by alkaline and O2/Ar plasma has been more than the total amount of the fabric by the two treatments separately.The K/S value and color strength of PET fabrics by various plasma pre-treatment times was increased.It indicated that plasma pre-treatment has synergistic effect on alkaline treatment of PET fabrics,which could be obtained at low temperature.
