Bisphenol-A polycarbonate (PC) is an excellent engineering thermoplastic due to its good impact strength, thermal resistance and transparency.Its scratch resistance, however, is inferior to other transparent resins such as poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA).To improve the properties via mixing PMMA and PC together, many efforts have been made including the addition of modifiers.In this paper, a series of graft copolymers of PC were synthesized as compatilizers to improve the compatibility of PMMA/PC blends.As a result, transparent polymer blends with single glass transition temperature (Tg) can be obtained.
