Ovarian carcinoma is a heterogeneous entity which is characterized by a high degree of genetic instability with frequent genetic damages and multiple genomic alterations.This complexity has made the identification of specific genes and pathways difficult, especially in distinguishing the driver from the passenger events that are pivotal for carcinoma initiation or progression.Recently, analysis performed with high resolution platforms has revealed numerous microdeletions and amplifications across genome in solid tumors such as breast, colon, and ovarian carcinoma.
