Objective: To evaluate the effect of one-stage tumor resection and anastomosis for left-sided large bowel cancer with acute intestinal obstruction.Methods: Medical records of 136 patients who presented intestinal obstruction caused by left-sided large bowel cancerconfirmed by a pathologist were retrospectively reviewed between January 2005 and December 2011.The tumor radical resection rate, incidence of anastomotic leakage, mortality rate,and survival rate were observed.
