beta-Adrenoceptors (ARs) in the basolateral nucleus of amygdala (BLA) play an essential role in regulating synaptic plasticity and fear memory. However, little is known about the cellular and subcellular distributions of beta-ARs in this brain structure. Here,we reported that betal-and beta2-ARs are predominantly expressed in neurons but not in astrocytes in the BLA.Interestingly,betal-AR is predominantly distributed in the cell membrane and cytoplasm of neurons, whereas beta2-AR not only in the membrane and cytoplasm but also in the karyon. This differential subcellular distribution of betal-and beta2-ARs may have different functional significance in leaming and memory.
