The supply of military grain is an important link in the border defense administration and operation system in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Theater of the Southern Song Dynasty. In the early Song Dynasty in Shaoxing, the dispute over Sichuan and Shaanxi military staples started around two focuses. One was the geographical restriction directly related to the mode of transportation of grain and the other was the power game between the finance officer and the military officer. Although the objective problem of geographical restriction in the transfer of grain and grain in Sichuan and Shaanxi is not the core of the dispute, the power struggle is the fundamental issue. Although the debate on the issue of rations occurred in Sichuan and Shaanxi, there was “presence” and “remote control” of the Central Southern Song Central Committee. The discussion of the dispute over Sichuan and Shaanxi military supplies during the early Shaoxing period will help to deepen the understanding of local governance strategies and the rule of the rule in South Song Dynasty.
