  1.Plant influences on abiotic and biotic soil properties can result in priority effects that influence the structure and composition of microbial communities and volatile organic compounds(VOCs).To better understand the role of these plant–soil interactions,here we determine the changes of VOCs composition under elevated CO2(eCO2)and O3(eO3),and link VOCs to community structure of soil microbes and nematodes.
